Custom, hand made bookcase that is very heavy and sturdy! Antique hardwoods (maple) and solid heart pine. Beadboard back is also custom made by Old Wood from reclaimed but beautifullly grained heart pine. This color is a "White Chocolate" distressed. White with a glazing and distressed. Nothing on this is veneered or not solid reclaimed wood. Will list all dimensions so please read carefully. The height is 82", width - body 42", bottom trim 44" wide, and top molding is 48" wide, depth - 11" at the body and 12" with the bottom molding. The fronts are a 1 3/4" long piece of wood and the shelves are 3/4" thick SOLID. For the materials used, workmanship applied, and beauty of the piece, there is nothing out in "Cyber-land" that compares in price. The bottom shelf and middle shelf are permanent. The others are adjustable. Shelf clips are "Spoon type holders" placed in drilled holes. When you look at the bookcase, you do not see all the holes. So, I called in my man, Armando, owner of “Best Little Workshop” in Concord, CA (Plug in). He told me that it was originally a library table, that Bob had the cabriole legs “professionally cut” to convert it to an Executive Desk or could be used as a Dining Table. He said, “Buy it!! I can restore this into a RARE antique table worth $50,000.00 or more”. So, I bought it for $5.500.00 and paid 3 men ($500.) to lift the marble and frame and take it to Armando to be restored. Armando worked very hard to restore this antique table, and he went over it 4 times to get every inch back to its original condition. He charged me $5,000.00 to have it completely restored and another $1,000.00 to have it delivered to my home in Upstate California. This is a beautiful piece from 1930s England, bought in a store called Retrospect http://www.retrospect.ie/ in Dublin, Ireland. I used it to display my Waterford Crystal and was a centerpiece of my living room -- but I must now give it a good home. I would love to keep it forever, but I am moving to a small studio apartment. Janet from Retrospect (she remembers this cabinet although I bought it five years ago) says it's a highly unusual piece of oak veneer and it's in great condition. It has one glass shelf and has room for more. The glass in the door is all original, and it's come a long way. Size: 128cm high, 121cm wide and 58cm wide. (I've added "local pick-up on the site," but we can discuss that if you live farther away.)
